THE FORCE AWAKENS! Final Cut Is Finished!

THAT’S A WRAP FOR STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS! THE FINAL CUT IS FINISHED.

jj-abrams-star-wars1Yahoo! Movies has reported that J. J. Abrams has finished the final cut of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens – 28 days before the release of the movie, to boot. Abrams recently discussed this at a recent event (Celebrity Nerd-Off) with Stephen Colbert, which got thunderous applause from the audience (and Colbert himself).

Star Wars Battlefront Rushed?

The New Star Wars Battlefront is finally out!

Was it rushed?

ogimage.img.jpg (1920×1080)

In October, after the alpha testing for "Star Wars: Battlefront", many began to think that developer Dice was trying to rush development of the game to push the release before the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters in December. It was reported that an alpha tester has claimed via Neogaf forums that "Star Wars: Battlefront" was a complete mess.
Whether his claims were real or not, it did not stop 9 millions players from participating the "Star Wars: Battlefront" beta in October. According to EA, it was the single largest beta in the history of EA. Most of the beta participants found the Walker Assault mode exciting. The grand 20 vs 20 fight proved to be an amazing gameplay and many found it pretty impressive.
This is most likely why, according to GameZone, Electronic Arts and DICE has informed the players that there will be last minute adjustments before the launch of "Star Wars: Battlefront." The said adjustments are based on the results of the beta held in October. While keeping the Walker Assault mode as impressive as it was during the beta period some tweaks were made in partner and party system for a smoother multiplayer experience especially among friends. With this change, the players can now join a friend through the Xbox Friends app.
The standard battlefield formally was still apparent in the game, just like any arena. In the battle of Hoth you respawn after getting shot, but the spawning system has been changed. The spawn distance between the two camps are said to have been adjusted on the first uplink. Lastly the last minute changes were for the purpose of bringing the game to balance.
"Star Wars: Battlefront" was indeed released ahead of the premier of the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Does the game feel like it had been rushed?

If you're like me and still think this game is good you could catch a really good deal here and get it much cheaper than on other places.

New Planet Name And Other Plot Details Revealed

New PLANET NAME AND OTHER PLOT DETAILS REVEALED

From STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS  CHILDREN’S BOOK!

Banner
*image credit toyfiend (digital billboards in Times Square).

Yesterday our friend @JaredLSloan alerted us on Twitter about his very interesting discovery that he shared on imgur. He posted several screenshots from a children book, revealing several plot details from The Force Awakens, as well as the name of a new planet from the movie.

BEWARE OF SPOILERS!

I’ve tried to arrange the screenshots in chronological order. As you will see they reveal a good deal of the plot, without any huge spoilers, but again I would advise you to stop reading here if you want the ultimate experience on December 18th. :)

1. Poe Dameron and BB-8 meet Lor San Tekka, played by Max von Sydow on Jakku:
PoeSo it’s Lor San Tekka’s important message that is put in BB-8, which will help the Resistance. Could this message be in Luke’s Bespin lightsaber? And it appears that they exchange something that looks like a necklace in their hands.

We’ve actually already seen a brief shot from the meeting between Poe and Lor in one of the TV spots (via Old Biff from the Future):
Poe 02
It’s obviously and interior scene with a candle burning in the background. This is when Poe says “We’ve got company”.

2. It appears that Maz Kanata is Han’s old mentor. It’s strange that he never mentioned that before, but this could be covered in the upcoming young Han Solo Anthology movie, and get a proper explanation.
Obviously BB-8 has an important mission in the movie, he has something important for the Resistance (pretty close to Artoo’s role in A New Hope). Han, Rey, Finn and BB-8 go to Maz Kanata’s planet Takodana for help. It’s interesting that the book says “Han’s new friends”. This suggests that there are no family relations in this group, or who knows…
Han and Maz

3. Probably one of the many creatures at Maz Kanata’s castle is a spy. Captain Phasma and the First Order are preparing to assault the castle. Our heroes are captured.
A spy on Takodana

4. The First Order troopers (Hasbro call them Riot Control Stormtroopers) equipped with shields and an electro tonfa (especially useful against lightsabers) are preparing for battle on Takodana.
First Order Troopers

5. Leia’s X-Wing squadron led by Poe Dameron comes to the rescue. They manage to rescus Han, Chewie and Finn, but Rey and BB-8 are captured (probably by Kylo Ren, as we’ve seen from the TV spots) and taken to Starkiller base. It’s interesting to see when our heroes get separated since we saw them all entering Kanata’s castle.
X-WingsAlso, now we have the first official confirmation that The Resistance headquarters are on the planet D’Qar. If you search for that planet on Wookieepedia, you get that the planet was first mentioned on the novel Lost Stars (via Aglarion):
At one point, one of the protagonist is scouting several systems with the rest of his squadron in order to find where the Empire is building the second Death Star. They visit a planet, D’Qar, which is described like this:
“the thick canopy of trees covering the surface of D’Qar (…)
“We should list this planet as a potential base in the future. The Empire’s not interested, not much space lane traffic in this area, plus there’s plenty of water.

6. Finn is going to Starkiller base with Han and Chewie to rescue Rey and BB-8, before the Resistance destroys the superweapon.
Finn rescues Rey

7. Han, Chewie and Finn crash land on Starkiller base. Trying to save one live, will they lose another?
Han Crash

That’s all. Make sure to tell us what you think about this basic plot outline of the movie in the comments below. Do you like it? Keep in mind of course that there will be many other details, characters and subplots in the full movie not mentioned above. Also there are at least several occasions when children’s books to a certain movie were not 100% accurate with the actual movie.

Also, I am still not sure if this book is supposed to be released before the movie, but obviously the person who posted the screenshots didn’t have problems grabbing one.

Again special thanks to @JaredLSloan for the find.

4 Questions We Need Answered!

4 QUESTIONS WE NEED ANSWERED STAR WARS

SW--Introby Matt Atchity | November 16, 2015

With the release of the new Star Wars TV spot, and the Japanese trailer that shares much of the same footage, we still have more questions than answers about what we’ll see when The Force Awakens hits theaters in December. Virtually every shot has generated a flury of Internet fan theories — some plausible, others not so much. We’re not going to indulge in the temptation to speculate, lest we stumble into spoiler territory, but we will share several of the big questions we have, based on what we’ve seen so far.

QUESTION #1

Have Han and Chewie been away from the Millennium Falcon?
In the first teaser, we see shots of the Falcon flying over Jakku, but in the second teaser, we hear Han Solo say “Chewie… we’re home.”  That line, coupled with the shot that shows Han and Chewbacca with weapons drawn inside the Falcon, leads us to believe that the two scoundrels may have been away from the Falcon for a considerable period of time.  Otherwise, why would they be flashing heat on their own ship? And what could have possibly separated Han from his beloved craft?

QUESTION #2

Why does Finn leave the First Order?
In the very first teaser, we see Finn in Stormtrooper armor, but without a helmet. In the second teaser, we see an armored but unmasked Finn looking traumatized. Was there some horrifying event that drove him from the First Order?

QUESTION #3

Is Rey related to Han and/or Leia?  Or Luke?
There are a fair amount of clues about family across a few of the trailers.  In the second teaser, we hear Luke talking about how the force runs strong in his family.  That line is lifted out of Return of the Jedi, but we’re clearly supposed to be thinking about family in that teaser.  In the Japanese trailer, we hear Rey talking about waiting for her family, and then in that new 30-second TV spot, we also hear another character (likely Maz Kanata, played by Lupita Nyong’o) saying “I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people,” while cutting between Rey and Han, strongly implying some kind of familial relationship between the two characters.

QUESTION #4

Where’s Luke Skywalker?
We’ve yet to see Mark Hamill’s face in any of the trailers.  The closest hint we’ve seen is a shot in the second teaser of a hooded figure with a mechanical right hand reaching out to R2-D2.  Luke has worn a hood as a Jedi, he’s got a mechanical hand, and he’s been seen with R2-D2, but that isn’t really proof. We’ve heard Luke’s dialogue in that same teaser, but that’s audio that has been pulled from Return of the Jedi. The Comic-Con behind-the-scenes footage is partially narrated by Mark Hamill, and we see him (out of costume) on set in that video, but that’s all we know. We don’t know why we’re not seeing Luke’s face in any of the trailers — or any of the posters, for that matter — and his absence is probably the biggest mystery around the film at this point.

Is the Solo Twins In The Force Awakens?

The Solo Twins In The New Star Wars?

 AT
Kylo Ren Courtesy: Disney
There are Star Wars fans, and then there are Star Wars fans. And if you’re hardcore enough to know Princess Leia’s cell number (2187), Grand Moff Tarkin’s middle name (Wilhuff) and what Han Solo was scripted to say before he got frozen (“I love you too”), then you probably know all about the twins.
In the Expanded Universe series of books that began publishing in 1994 and were set after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” Han Solo and Leia Organa married and had twins — a son named Jacen and a daughter named Jaina. Throughout production of “The Force Awakens,” JJ Abrams and other behind-the-scenes forces have insisted that the film will tell its own story — but now that fans have received their best look yet at the film thanks to the trailer heard ’round the world, a growing contingent is convinced that the twins are indeed in the film.
Possible spoilers ahead, so you can stop reading now if these are not the rumors you’re looking for.
The key to these new suspicions (with thanks to RadioTimes) isn’t that Jacen and Jaina are background characters in the trailer who will emerge in the actual film and ensuing trilogy, but instead that they’ve been under our noses the entire time. By now, you know and love and probably already have action figures for Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (Daisy Ridley). But in the Expanded Universe books, the sister heads towards the good side of the Force while the brother succumbs to the Dark Side — and there is building evidence that those two characters are incognito similar to how Luke Skywalker began “A New Hope.”

In exile

The “Star Wars” films have always loved working in generational circles. So it would make sense that although Rey is a scavenger on Jakku — a desert planet similar to Tatooine — she would be similar to Luke at the beginning of “New Hope” in that she doesn’t know her parents, and was put on that remote planet for her own safety.

The resemblance

Take a look at Ridley in the scenes we’ve glimpsed thus far, then look back at old pictures of Princess Leia and her mother Padme. Ridley is not only dressed in ways that remind you of those old characters that could possibly be Rey’s mom and grandmother, but the actress herself looks so much like Carrie Fisher and Natalie Portman did at the ages when they shot their films that it seems naive to think a casting director wasn’t purposely trying to match her to that “type.”
daisy ridley force awakens Star Wars evidence emerges: Are Han Solo and Leias twin children in The Force Awakens?

What if Kylo Ren becomes a Sith Lord?

In the Expanded Universe books, Jacen Solo saw his grandfather Anakin as a sympathetic character — which led him to become a Sith lord named Darth Caedus who followed in the monstrous footsteps of Darth Vader. In “Force Awakens,” Kylo Ren isn’t a Sith Lord yet, but in virtually every shot we’ve seen of him he is clearly meant to evoke a certain heavy-breathing character — and it ain’t Jabba after 20 minutes on a treadmill. Seriously, take a look at the picture below – how clear is it that this guy is trying to be Darth Vader?
kylo-ren-force-awakens

Their ages

We know that “The Force Awakens” is set about 34 years after the events of “A New Hope,” and in the Expanded Universe the twins were born about 9 years after Luke blew up that first Death Star. So if you do the math, the twins should be about 25 — and both actors playing those roles are in the right age range.
rey force awakens disney1 Star Wars evidence emerges: Are Han Solo and Leias twin children in The Force Awakens?

Han and Leia are distraught

Quite likely the most powerful shot of the new trailer is watching a distraught Leia resting her head on the chest of an equally somber Han Solo. We know they married, we know it’s been 30+ years, and yet we haven’t heard a peep about any possible offspring. So, if the couple aren’t in tears over the state of their children, what else could possibly have an old married couple in such distress?

Who Is Supreme Leader Snoke?

Who is Supreme Leader snoke?

maz-kanata-and-supreme-leader-snoke-working-together-in-star-wars-7-what-s-behind-the-do-519204.jpg (1280×720)

This is a speculative article however it contains possible spoilers for The Force Awakens, if you want to remain completely spoiler free don’t read any further than this!

As I’ve mentioned many times before I am a huge fan of the villains from the Star Wars saga, so the thing I am most interested in when talking about The Force Awakens is the new bad guys, who they are and what are they about. You may remember recently I wrote another speculative piece pertaining to Kylo Ren and his possible future, a subject I am sure has some grounding. Today however I’ll be talking about Mr Andy Serkis’ character, Supreme Leader Snoke!
So what do we really know about Supreme Leader Snoke? Not much is the answer to that question–we know who the character is played by as I mentioned above, we also know Andy Serkis is doing his famed motion capture work for the character. Serkis also confirmed a while back that it was in fact his voice we heard in the first teaser trailer; he also added that it was completely natural and no voice enhancement was carried out. We also have one very interesting yet vague quote from Serkis himself regarding his character, this quote is taken from an interview he did with Entertainment Weekly after the first teaser was released, he said:
I have to be very careful about how I answer these questions. The character … he says, followed by a long pause. He’s been through some stuff.
This quote doesn’t really tell us much at all, however Serkis saying that his character has “been through some stuff” indicates to me that Supreme Leader Snoke has experience and knowledge of the galaxy, knowledge he may have gained through someone or knowledge that has been self-taught through experience, so to speak. These are questions we can’t answer right now, but let’s look a little deeper into the mystery of Snoke.
Supreme-Leader-Snoke-e1433184119145

A little while back our friends over at Star Wars Underworld got the scoop on Supreme Leader Snoke (previously codenamed “Uber”) and what he may look like in The Force Awakens. Their article bullet pointed that he “looks like an old man” and appears “zombie-like” almost as if he’s “risen from the dead.” These points here are very interesting indeed; however they give us more questions than answers. I also feel that the last point “risen from the dead” is just descriptive way our friends sources used to describe his look–I don’t personally think he has literally risen from the dead. This however takes me onto my next point, a theory many feel very strongly about (and who’s to say they are wrong? It’s all up for conjecture right now).
So an opinion many have is that Supreme Leader Snoke is in fact Darth Plagueis. Many of my friends are adamant that the Supreme Leader is the former dark lord of the Sith and that he used his knowledge of the dark side to reincarnate himself and bring the Sith back to power. This theory is fair, as it would certainly create a long thread of connective tissue between the sequels and prequels and would create a great threat to our rising heroes–I mean how do you kill someone who has already died and come back to life? However here’s the thing with this theory: first of all we have no evidence so far that points to this as being the case, and I feel like they will want to introduce a new main villain to the already existing saga, someone whom has crept from the shadows of a fractured Empire, someone or something that has risen from the ashes of the Sith.
NASTY_BAST

“Unlimited Powerrrrrrr!!”-Darth Sidious
One thing that is fairly certain but is yet to be confirmed is that Supreme Leader Snoke is Force-sensitive; we gather from his dialogue in the first teaser trailer that he is at least aware of the force and its goings-on. His line “There has been an awakening, have you felt it?” says to me and many others that he has felt the awakening in the Force from both the dark side and light side–maybe this is him telling Kylo the time has come to carry out their mission? Or maybe he’s preparing his foot soldier for what is to come? For me the former is most plausible. We know that throughout the film Kylo Ren and the General (played by Domhnall Gleeson) are reporting to Snoke via hologram and that his title now tells us he’s the one pulling the strings for the First Order. This also makes me believe Snoke was most likely the founder of this new order who picked up the fragmented Empire and bought it together, seizing the power from the void that was left following the Emperor’s demise.
All of that being said, who really is this mysterious leader, is he alone in his string pulling or is he a member of a cult? You may be wondering what I mean by this. Well, Star Wars Rebels has cemented in canon the existence of Inquisitors and is showing us that the Emperor and Vader used them to carry out their bidding. What if Supreme Leader Snoke was a former Inquisitor who learned directly from Vader or the Emperor–could he have learned enough to have become a Sith, meaning the Force and its balance were still in question come the end of Return of the Jedi? Maybe Snoke gathered up the remaining Inquisitors and formed this mysterious “Seven” that attack Luke’s Jedi academy post-Jedi, maybe Supreme Leader Snoke has formed his own Sith Order and is currently residing on Moraband watching his dark plans fall into place. Again I must reiterate that this is speculation based on what we know; I could be way off and I’m sure there is more to this character than we may see in The Force Awakens come December.
Just remember, the dark side is shrouded in mystery and in this case right now that is evident.
